The iconic Mastoris Diner & Restaurant, which had been around for more than 60 years and hosted a plethora of important figures over the years including former President Gerald Ford, has closed permanently in part “due to the ongoing pandemic’s impact on the restaurant industry,” according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
Located in Bordentown Township, the historic eatery was known for many years for its cheese and cinnamon bread that people would drive for many miles away to buy.
Originally a family business, Mastoris was sold in early 2020 to Foggia Restaurant Group, LLC, a group of local investors, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, the post said.
